Restricted taxon changes are those taxon changes which can only be made with administrative access. An administrator is granted the necessary privileges to edit features related to the apex taxon and taxonomic scope of a particular Species File and how these relate to other Species Files. There are currently five different restricted taxon changes: (1) Changing to a different apex taxon; (2) Edit taxonomic context; (3) Cancel the autolink for a taxon; (4) Edit list of genera outside the primary scope; and (5) Edit names formerly within the primary scope.
